If reports are to be trusted, Arsenal have completed the signing of FC Basel defensive midfielder Mohamed Elneny and he will fly into London this week for his medicals.
The 23-year-old Egyptian joined Basel in the January of 2013 and gradually imposed himself to becoming a mainstay for the squad. He has been featuring regularly for the Swiss club.
The reports have claimed that the Gunners have struck a £5 million deal for the player. He will be Arsenal’s first January signing.
Arsenal have been heavily decimated by injuries in the midfield position. Jack wishere, Tomas Rosicky, Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla are all out injured until next year.
Mohamed Elneny can play as a deep lying defensive midfielder and his stats show that he offers better that Coquelin in the attack and does well in the defence too.
Arsenal are currently sitting in second place on the Premier League log. They were poor in the game against Southampton yesterday and fatigue was attributed to their defeat yesterday. Arsenal are without depth.
The 23-year-old has starred five times in the Europa League for club this season. He has scored two goals and have a 92.4% passing accuracy.
