The Gunners have been enjoying a relatively good season in the Premier League but they have been left thin in the midfield and attack because of the amount of injuries picked up by key players.
Wenger is looking to take advantage of the January transfer window to bolster his squad. He is now setting his sight on Real Madrid versatile winger Jese Rodriguez, per reports.
Rodriguez has been unhappy with life at Madrid as he has not been given enough playing time. The 22-year-old has managed to make only four starts in the La Liga this term and his agent has confirmed that he might heading out of the Bernabeu.
His agent Gines Carvajal said, per Spanish publication Marca
“He needs to play more, that’s the best way to keep his spirits up. The club will have to make a decision. He’s training well, he’s strong and has to seize the opportunity when it comes.”
Rodriguez is big and strong. He can play on both wings and behind the striker. He will offer Wenger option on the flanks particularly and will be let off Madrid’s radar in the winter if Wenger is bullish in the market.
The player have been overshadowed by the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo, James Rodriguez and Gareth but he’s have more opportunity to play if he makes the switch to Arsenal.
