Chelsea is still struggling at 13th position at the table while Watford managed to snatch another point, putting them 4 points above the defending Champions. Chelsea’s unbeaten run extended to seven Premier League games with a draw at Watford; the blues have not lost a game in the league since 14th December.
Diego Costa saw his first attempt close attempt deflected just wide for the visitors while Thibaut Courtois managed to keep Etienne Capoue’s fierce drive in control. Watford started strong in the start, with Chelsea retaliating equally. Chelsea put a weak display in the first half with Costa getting heated up before the half time. Both sides started to show better performance in the second half, as Gomes put an amazing display, making some great saves. With just 2 minutes left on clock, Heurelho Gome’s brilliant one-handed save from Costa’s goalbound header denied Chelsea’s chance of victory.
Gomes undoubtedly put a man of the match performance and certainly was the best man on the ground. His saves managed to get Watford the crucial point and the Hornets boss looked happy with the result.
Costa remained the center of attention throughout the match. With a few great attempts, we all saw the best of Diego Costa though he struggled to control his temper and got involved in an angry exchange with Juan Carlos Perades resulting both of the players getting booked.
Flores was satisfied with the result as they managed to get a point in a big game. It is certain that Chelsea needs to perform better than that in order to improve their position. Both teams have big games coming up; Watford will be facing Tottenham while Chelsea will host Manchester United on Sunday.
