Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola has made claims supporting the fact that the performances and attitude on and off the pitch of some key players in the overall team performance has been a major reason for the club’s terrible output in recent times.
Apart from firmly stating that the team has suffered greatly from defensive frailties this season, the former Stamford Bridge favourite also said he believes a combination of star players Eden Hazard and Diego Costa have not been performing and are clearly straining the rest of the team members and the manager with their attitude on and off the field of play.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is under intense pressure at the Stamford Bridge after losing seven out of their twelve English Premier League matches despite the Blues being the defending champions of the title.
Zola said, “There is no one compelling reason for the poor start to the season,”
Chelsea fans and football fans all over will have no reason to doubt these assumptions by Zola as it is quite obvious without any inhibitions that these two players are gradually ruining the team with Mourinho and the Portuguese manager himself has not made things easier as he has publicly called out Hazard on many occassions and has obviously been condoning the excesses of Diego Costa who is gradually ruining the club’s integrity with his childish pranks and fights instead of concentrating on trying to score goals.
It remains to be seen how much more Chelsea fans and club owner and management will be able to take before something drastic is done.
