Although, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made it clear that he wants to sign players in this transfer window and he has already started with the transfer of Defensive midfielder Mohamed Elneny from Basel but he has also made it clear that he will not be signing any new strikers.
This statement has made it clear that any striker targets could be allowed to go anywhere else.
Although, he was initially targeting Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato but with Joel Campbell’s form and Giroud’s scoring form of recent, he has abandoned the dream to sign Pato.
He also recently stated that Danny Welbeck will soon return to the squad and he might not want to buy someone he won’t even use after all.
This has opened the door for Chelsea to sign the star striker who has Ben shining in the Brazilian and who is desperate to move to the English Premier League.
The player is reportedly presently in London to hold talks with Chelsea and the reports are stating that he will complete the signing in less than 48 hours and may even be in time to feature against Arsenal on Sunday.
The Blues need a player like this at the moment especially with their striker options reduced to only Diego Costa who is not even as sharp as he used to be and injuries affecting Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy and it remains to be seen what he will add to the Chelsea squad after all.
