Arsenal ended up thrashing Bournemouth and leapt to the top of the English Premier League table on Monday night but the manager still knows that the team desperately needs quality strikers as centre-back Gabriel Paulista scored the first goal and midfielder Mesut Ozil scored the second goal.
The manager may now be prepared to do the drastic as he is reportedly planning a £15m bid plus young striker Joel Campbell to Celta Vigo for in-form striker Nolito in the January transfer window.
The Spanish striker has helped his side to stay fourth on the La Liga table behind Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid and he us been wanted by a number of clubs including Barcelona who seem to be ready to do all in their power to sign the player.
Nolito might however prefer a move to Arsenal and the English Premier League as he knows he will have to struggle for a place in Barcelona and might see his career suffer at the long run.
However, it is still unclear if Wenger is desperate enough to let Joel Campbell leave just when he seems to have forte the form of his life and is helping the team on to better things.
Campbell is also one of the few players in the team who can play in the front and in the wings presently and it will make no sense to see such a player leave when he is doing well.
It remains to be seen though if there is any iota of truth in this rumour but Arsenal do need one new striker at least and it will make sense to sign someone of Nolito’s stature at least.
