Musonda Snr. has now urged his son to seek a move away from the West London club and join another big club, in order to save his career.
Musonda has represented Chelsea at the youth level and last term, he helped the Blues’ Under-21s reach the Youth FA Cup final and also clinch the trophy, with his goals and assists. The young Belgian is a highly-rated player but lot of competitions for places in Jose Mourinho’s team has prevented him from breaking into the side.
“He must absolutely leave Chelsea and, since January, Monaco have been trying to sign him. Monaco are not alone but they truly want him,” Musonda Snr told La Derniere Heure [per the Daily Mail].
“He’s not had a specific discussion with Jose Mourinho yet but he’s trained regularly with the first team. He often watches his friend Eden Hazard. He plays an important role for Charly with his advice. My son does not want to copy his style but develop his own.
Chelsea don’t want him [to go back to Belgium]. They want Charly to play in a good team in a big league. He must play for a first team. He progresses everyday but he must develop further.
“Technically, he’s always been good but he still has much work to do on a physical and mental level. He’s paying attention to this aspect of football.”
Arsenal and Monaco have been linked with Musonda Jnr. and as per the Daily Mail, the French giants are ready to offer the 19-year old a first team role – something which is not on the cards at Chelsea.
