Arsenal winger, Alexis Sanchez, has expressly shown his interest to be involved in the match that will be seeing Arsenal take on Manchester City. The winger has missed the last 3 games of Arsenal since he was sidelined due to a hamstring injury. The Chilean has targeted this clash as the game where he will be returning and since he has returned to training, his wish might just come true.
Arsene Wenger had earlier revealed on Thursday that the forward is back but that he has not been involved in full training. It was first feared that Sanchez will be out for close to 6 weeks, but he is back much earlier than expected. A source close to the London club claimed that the Chilean will be included in the 18-man squad for the game, but there is no proof yet that he will start.
Sanchez has been back in England since a week ago after he was sent home to receive treatment from Chilean national team doctors. This move has helped to quicken his recovery and he is now set to return. He was also exempted from the club’s Christmas party as he was given more time to recuperate. Arsenal has coped well with the injury of the star forward as they have won all three games they played without him. The team qualified for the round-of-16 of UEFA Champions with a 3-0 win over Olympiacos in Greece and they also won their Premier league games against Sunderland and Aston Villa 3-1 and 2-0 respectively.
