Spanish, Copa Del Rey and European champions Barcelona have sacked reserve team player Sergi Guardiola seven hours after signing him.
Sergi, who is not related to the more popular Pep Guardiola, was signed by Barcelona into their B team at 15:00 on Monday before his deal was officially terminated at 22:10 the same day over offensive tweets against Barcelona and Catalonia. This could be perfect opportunity for Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea to snap up the high rated midfielder.
24-year old midfielder Guardiola started the current season with Madrid-based Spanish second tier side Alcoron and has now dearly paid for the tweets he posted in 2013 and 2014, in which he declared support for arch-rivals Real Madrid prompting intense outbursts from Barcelona fans when his signing was confirmed.
Guardiola’s wait to play for a La Liga club goes on despite playing for eight different clubs in his relatively short career though he would be ruing his missed chance with Barcelona currently leading the Spanish league.
The Catalan giants led by the lethal forward trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez have won 11 of their 15 La Liga games this season and are level on points at the top of the table with Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid having played a game more. Luis Enrique’s men also have the best shot accuracy (52%) due to the aforementioned trio despite creating fewer chances (191) than Real Madrid (254).
