As January transfer window draws closer, Chelsea are preparing to meet the asking price of £20 million that AS Monaco has placed on midfielder, Bernardo Silva. Chelsea FC have seen the potential in the 21-year old attacking midfielder and they want him to join them as they prepare to kickoff the second half of the season in a good manner. The team has struggled so many times this season and their hope of finishing in the top 4 seems to be fading away.
The Portuguese attacking midfielder has been playing well this season and he has impressed so many top teams, including FC Barcelona. He has scored 3 goals in 17 appearances this season and he is the kind of players Chelsea have been missing this season.
Bernardo Silva rose through the youth system of Portuguese club, Benfica, and he was named one of the best players for Benfica B in the second division of the Portuguese league. He played a game for the first team of Benfica before moving to AS Monaco in January of the year 2015 for £15.75 million. He has scored a total of 11 goals in 40 games for the French Ligue 1 side since making his debut.
Bernardo Silva has featured for Portugal senior team 5 times and he has earlier played for Portugal U19 and U21 teams. He was selected as one of the top 10 brightest stars under the age of 19 in Europe by UEFA reporters few years ago.
