The Gunners have announced that two young academy players have signed new contracts with the London Club. Tafari Moore signed a contract extension while Nigerian born Tolaji Bola agreed his first professional contract with the club. The Gunners announced the deal through their Twitter handle yesterday.
Moore is a talented 18-year old full back, who has been compared to former Arsenal right back, Bacary Sagna, due to his love of getting involved in attack often. The defender has been with the club since the age of 12. He got rewarded with a contract extension after a series of key performances and also establishing himself as a key member of the Arsenal U21 side this season.
The no-nonsense defender was Steve Gatting’s first choice right back for the U21’s and also impressed in the UEFA youth league. He has also represented England in U17 level, helping the team win the 2014 European Championships in Malta. The promising youngster is known for his marauding forward forays.
He is also quick and capable of delivering nice crosses. He signed professional contract with the Gunners in the summer of 2014. He is a very resolute defender who is also very confident in possession. The other player handed his first professional contract, 17-year old Tolaji Bola was rewarded for his development since gaining promotion to the Gunners U18 squad.
The young Gunner has impressively developed his game since breaking into the U18 team last season. Bola is capable of playing in center back or left back position, although his reading of the game still requires some work. The Nigerian-born player has represented England at youth level.
The news of the contract has further shown that Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal board, still remain committed to the development and encouragement of young players in the academy.
