It appears Arsenal is looking forward to being very active in the coming transfer window. The Gunners have been linked to a number of targets this season and it is expected that the club would land some of them soon enough. One of such names on the card is Celta Vigo’s star, Nolito. The 29-year-old has been in sensational form this season notching up eight goals and five assists in 15 league games for the club.
Arsene Wenger wants Nolito at Arsenal this January and the club is ready to cough out the needed £13m to sign Spanish forward. Arsenal are seeking to give their title bid more impetus and credibility in the second half of the season and will therefore seek to reinforce accordingly. The Premier League contenders are in second place, just two points adrift of Leceister city and have long admired Nolito. Wenger, it is said, is keen to bring an attacking midfielder into his fold and the Spaniard fits the description. In fact, he tops the manager’s wishlist.
The former Barcelona and Benfica man has a release clause of £13m, which is clearly affordable and shouldn’t be a big deal. However, Arsenal face stiff competition from Spanish big guns, Barcelona and Real Madrid. Barcelona are also very keen to bring the player back to Camp Nou, a place he left in 2011.
