Sam Johnstone completed a one-month loan deal to Championship side Preston North End. Report according to BBC stated as thus:
“My last game here for Preston was at Wembley,” said Johnstone, who has also been out on loan at Scunthorpe United, Walsall, Yeovil Town and Doncaster Rovers. “It was a great day, but now we’ve got to kick on.
“It’s great to be around the team at Manchester United, but I am 22-years-old and I have to think about myself a little bit and I need to be playing first team football.”
Meanwhile, Manchester United cut short the loan spell of Will Keane as they needed more players in their attack. United are in dire need of attackers and Van Gaal thinks the 22-year-old will give him option in the attack.
Will, while at United, struggled to make first team but his former manager at Preston Simon Grayson in the belief the youngster can make first team at United.
“Obviously it’s disappointing to lose Will. In the last few weeks he’s been finding his feet with us, but that is what happens when you get loan players.
“We accept it. We will probably go into the market over the next few days and weeks to bring in reinforcements. Hopefully he will do well for Manchester United.”
