Arsenal’s glamorous start to the season has been attributed not only to the mesmerizing displays of Santi Cazorla, nor the tackles of Coquelin, neither to the goal scoring prowess of Sanchez but also the flamboyant show-off of Mesut Ozil.
The 27-year-old German was signed from Real Madrid in 2013 in Arsenal’s transfer record breaking deal of £42.4 million. Since then Ozil has struggled to adapt to the rigors of the EPL because of his style. However, since the inception of this season, Ozil has been magnificent and has become the best creative midfielder in the League.
He’s jointly atop the assist table with Manchester City’s David Silva. Ozil provided two assist for Arsenal’s win over Watford last weekend. Ozil has created 37 goal scoring chances this season ahead of Mata’s 17 and Silva’s 16.
The German has also given 31 key passes against Mata’s 14 and Silva’s 10. Just yesterday too in the Gunners Champions League clash against Bayern Munich, Ozil scored the second goal that secured that victory over the German Champions.
We are definitely going to see more from Ozil and he has grown in understanding with Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will host Everton in the League this weekend and a win for them might take them to the top of the table.
