Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is expected to return to the squad this weekend to face Norwich City while speedster Theo Walcott is also edging closer to a return for the Gunners.
Arsenal travel to Carrow Road on Sunday afternoon and Arsene Wenger revealed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain should be available for the tie after recovering from a hamstring injury that ruled him out for a month.
The Ox’s return to the squad is apparently well timed as Alexis Sanchez recently sustained a knock and Wenger is looking to rest him over the coming games.
In what’s a double boost, Arsene also revealed that Walcott is closing in on making his return. Theo has been on the sidelines since picking up a calf injury against Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup last month.
Walcott is now up and running again and although he won’t be in contention to face Norwich, he could mark his return to the squad against Sunderland next weekend following his introduction back in team training.
It will be a major boost to have The Ox and Walcott available again following Arsenal’s November injury problems. Giroud and Sanchez are in desperate need of a rest so Arsene should be able to rotate his team a little bit over the coming weeks.
With December fast approaching Wenger is going to need his players to be fit ahead of the tight run of fixtures.
