Club Set To Sign 30 Goals 5 Assists Striker, £30m Bid To Be ACCEPTED

Liverpool are reportedly planning to make use of Jurgen Klopp’s influence to lure Argentine forward, Mauro Icardi to Anfield. According to Spanish sources, Liverpool are hoping to beat Arsenal to the striker’s signature, using Jurgen Klopp’s influence. The 23-year old have been linked with Arsenal in recent weeks and the Gunners are also reported to have made a big offer for the Inter Milan man.

Spanish news outlet, Fichajales, reports that Liverpool are desperate to sign the player and are ready to hijack Arsenal’s bid and the influence of their German coach could put them on greater advantage as we head into the transfer window. Fichajales also suggested that the player himself might favor a move to Liverpool ahead of Arsenal.

Liverpool have lost two of their last four league games, conceding 5 goals in the process and scoring just two, few of the stats that highlights Liverpool’s defensive problems. Liverpool have conceded 24 league goals this season, scoring a lowly 22, second highest among teams in the league’s top 10, just a goal behind Leicester who have conceded 25 times in the league so far.

Liveroool have scored the lowest number of goals among teams in the top 9 of the league table. Icardi has only managed 7 goals in 12 games so far, Inter may not be willing to let their top striker go. He scored 30 goals and created 5 assists last season. Liverpool’s summer acquisition, Christian Benteke, has not really been explosive since joining from Aston Villa. Despite scoring 6 league goals, Benteke hasn’t been at his best, while Daniel Sturridge hasn’t had enough playing time due to frequent injuries, bringing up the need for another striker.

Icardi who has scored 7 league goals so far is been touted as an ideal addition by the Liverpool board. Icardi ended last season as Inter’s top scorer. He also finished with 22 league goals, his best season since making his SerieA debut with Sampdoria in 2012. Icardi joined Inter from Sampdoria in the summer of 2013 for €6million and has since established himself as one of the most prolific strikers in the Italy.
