Serie A giants Juventus are set to reignite their interest in Chelsea attacking midfielder Oscar, and have sent a club representative to hold talks with the west London club, as per Soccerlens who cite reports in Italy.
The Bianconeris sporting director Fabio Paratici is in London to hold talks with the Blues over a summer move for Oscar, as claimed in the report.
Juventus have been on the tail of Oscar for a while and they believe they have a great chance of prising the Brazilian away from Stamford Bridge this time, after failing to land him over the summer.
The Blues have made a dreadful start to their Premier League campaign this term, with the Blues languishing in 16th place on the log – having lost seven of their 12 league games already this term.
A host of Chelsea stars have been underwhelming this term and Oscar is definitely one of them. The likes of Nemanja Matic, Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa and Eden Hazard who contributed to the Blues’ league triumph last term have all struggled to make any impact this season. Oscar’s form has also dipped alarmingly and he has made only six appearances for Jose Mourinho’s side in the league. The Selecao star has also bagged two goals and failed to register any assist so far.
Having said that, Tuttosport reckon Oscar’s market value could have dropped and that the deal could go through for around €30m.
Also, Chelsea will use that opportunity to hold talks with Juventus over the future of on-loan winger Juan Cuadrado, who wishes to continue to play for the Old Lady on a permanent basis.
Although, Oscar’s quality is not in doubt, but Mourinho could be willing to cash in on him – alongside other underperforming stars – as the Portuguese tactician seeks to overhaul his squad next summer.
