Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been somewhat exonerated from the current woes of Chelsea as some key players have been fingered as lead to the dismal campaign.
Following Chelsea horrendous campaign, they have been obliged by former footballer turned Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson to let off their radar Spain International Cesc Fabregas following his dip in form.
Fabregas joined from Barcelona along Diego Costa and became a huge coup for Mourinho as he provided 11 assist in 15 League appearances. Nonetheless, he has been a shadow of himself this season, creating only two assist in the League thus far and has been left of the starting XI of Chelsea in a couple of games.
Paul Merson who claims to be in the know of Chelsea’s major problems think Fabregas should be sold for a better player. He posited that the Blues should look to offloading some key players including Fabregas.
Chelsea need a January clear-out and I would start by getting rid of Cesc Fabregas,”
However, he admitted that the ace midfielder was great in his first season form Chelsea but now believes the player has dropped form significantly.
“He was brilliant when he first came back to England but hasn’t been good enough for months. They’ve been carrying him.” – He added.
Chelsea are currently wallowing in 16th position on the League log with one point above relegation zone. They will be looking to secure at most a top four position.
