Wenger might be ready to rush things in the January transfer window as he has been making his targets closer with his moves as he agrees deal for midfield commander ahead of the transfer window opening.
The Gunners midfield has been reduced to the barest with several injuries to the players in the centre of the pitch as about 6 of the Gunners midfield players are out injured and this might end up hurting the team’s chances at getting the long-awaited English Premier League title as the earliest of these players might be returning in February and this will be terrible news for Arsenal fans.
Recent reports have been carrying the news that Arsenal have signed Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny and he will be arriving in the January transfer window.
Reports are now stating that Wenger may be ready to add more players to the ranks as he is also targeting FC Porto midfielder Danilo Pereira.
The reports are stating that Wenger still wants the player as he believes Elneny is not a total defensive midfielder and needs a cover till Francis Coquelin returns from injury.
According to reports, Wenger has told master negotiator Dick Law to get a deal done for a whooping £29m (€39.87) as the player’s contract includes a release clause which might have to be activated. It is reported that the player will undergo a medical with the Gunners as early as next week.
The Gunners were also recently chasing his teammate Ruben Neves, but Neves has said he is not ready to move now until he wins trophies with Porto.
It remains to be seen if Wenger will be able to sign this player quickly before the end of the transfer window.
