According to reports, Arsenal have agreed to pay £5 million for FC Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny. According to Daily Mirror reporter John Cross, Elneny and the club (Arsenal) have agreed on personal terms and the player (Elneny) is set to undergo his medical shortly, after which the deal will be announced when the January transfer window opens proper.
Mohamed Elneny joining arsenal will be a good thing, as he will provide depth to the central midfield positions that seem to be struck by injuries on a regular lately.
And considering the fact that key players in that position for arsenal are out after sustaining injuries, with the likes of Francis Coqueline, Jack wilshere, Mikel Arteta and Santi Carzola all out with long term injuries this transfer comes as good news for Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal are firm favuorite’s for the English premier league title this season, and they need to add depth to their squad so as to accommodate the hectic schedule of the English league in other to avoid a repeat of 2013/2014 title capitulation.
The 23 year old Basel midfielder seems the best bet for the gunner’s midfield since he is young and comes at an affordable bargain considering he will cost the gunners just £5 million.
According to the report arsenal will move for Victor Wanyama atleast in the summer if not in this January transfer window. And it is further reported that Arsene Wenger has been monitoring the progress of Sevilla holding midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak.
He has an impressive range of passing, with 92.4% pass accuracy rate in the Europa League.
