Arsenal On The VERGE Of Signing £95,000-A-Week World Cup Q/finalist

Colombia international and Real Madrid ace midfielder James Rodriguez has emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal, this is according to report.

The former Monaco sensational star stole the show in the FIFA 2014 world Cup with his superb flick goal and ended the Mundial as the top scorer of the tournament. Typical with Madrid they signed him for about €80 million, making him the most expensive player in the history of his country.

Under the tutelage of Carlo Ancelotti, Rodriguez became an instant favourite and starred regularly for Los Blancos.  Sadly, his career has now taken a twist since Rafa Benitez took over at the helm at Madrid and Rodriguez is reportedly in the want of a move.

He  has scarcely featured for Madrid this term and the club are also looking to offload him for a more creative playmaker in the stead of Mesut Ozil. The report claims Madrid are willing to offer Rodriguez and some cash in exchange for Arsenal’s assist king Ozil.

The deal as offered by Madrid to Arsenal is unrealistic. Ozil was mistreated by Madrid when he was sacrificed on the alter of transfer in order to accommodate the buy of Bale. The Germany international has been the player for the season for Arsenal thus far and he recently pledged his future to the London club. It will be difficult Arsenal to let him off their radar no matter the player involved.

However, Arsenal can still present an escape route for Rodrigiuez who is currently unhappy and wants a move.
