The have been plagued by injuries as usual. The gunners currently have 7 players out injured and the need for more quality defensive midfielders is now top priority if they intend to forge an indomitable side and mount a strong title challenge.

All the aforementioned players who have been missing for a number weeks already look to return soon, according to Wenger, Sanchez is close to a return after suffering a hamstring injury which has kept him out for some weeks. The arsenal boss believes his star striker will return on the 16th of January.
Another is defensive midfielder Francis Coquelin, according to the Arsenal boss “Coquelin is running again,” Coquelin who suffered a knee injury sometime last year will return on 16th of Febuary.
While Santi Cazorla will be back hopefully mid Febuary or early March. The progress he has shown as he returns from a knee injury has been fantastic. Mikel Arteta suffered a calf strain and is expected atleast in 2 weeks’ time after showing progress.
Jack Wilshere who has missed a huge chunk of Arsenal’s season already due to Calf injury is expected back sometime in Febuary same thing with fellow England international Danny Welbeck (knee injury). He (Welbeck) will return in mid Febuary.
As for Thomas Rosicky he is expected precisely on the 16th of Febuary.
This report comes just in time as Arsenal cement their hold atop the premier league table. As the players are set to return just on the eve of the second half of the season.
