Arsenal supporters will certainly be delighted with the news that their star striker cum winger Theo Walcott is set for an early return from the injury which he suffered in the League Cup defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
There are claims Walcott is likely to make a swift return ahead of schedule and the Gunners’ faithful would hope the England international is fit enough to feature in the match day squad to face Tony Pulis’ West Browich Albion next weekend.
Walcott was initially thought to be back in action a week or two after the international break, but as the London Evening Standard would have it, the pacey forward will likely feature in next weekend’s game against the Albions or the trip to face Norwich the weekend after.
Either way, Walcott’s early return will surely be a welcoming boost for boss Arséne Wenger after the worrying news that devastating news that influential winger Alexis Sanchez is out with a calf injury while on international duty with Chile.
Arsenal squad is already depleted with injuries to a number of first team members and, Alexis injury would have come as a huge blow to the Gunners – as the Chilean has been an immense figure in the squad due to his commitment and dedication.
The north Londoners will hope Alexis’ injury is not long-term as it could derail their chances of winning the Premier League title this term. The Gunners are second on the table, level on points with leaders Manchester City and it appears Wenger’s side are truly ready for a title tilt this term.
