Arsenal Injury Crisis Update – Rosicky, Arteta, Coquelin, Walcott & Others

Arsenal’s reoccurring injury jinx  seems hell bent on derailing the Gunners’ bid for the Premier league title yet again this season.

Last summer, many Arsenal fans and pundits alike asked for a new defensive midfielder but the window closed and Wenger only signed Petr Cech . This decision now seems to be what will ruin the club’s bid for the title as the club lacks squad depth going into their next fixtures with a lot of players out injured.

Arsenal’s most recent injury concern is Francis Coquelin as the club fear that he could be long-term absentee having suffered knee ligament damage against the Baggies on Saturday. The midfielder suffered the problem in the early stages of the loss against Westbrom when he made a tackle on Claudio Yacob.

The extent of the injury is not known but the club are concerned by the initial signs and it is known that Coquelin has hurt the ligaments.

Coquelin has already been ruled out of Tuesdays Champions League clash against Dinamo Zagreb which is dubbed as a must win fixture for the Arsenal side.

Arsène Wenger, the Arsenal  manager, has battled injury problems to his squad over recent weeks and he was without Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck, Tomas Rosicky, Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at the Hawthorns.

Should the Injury reports be as severe as feared Arsenal will have to rely on Flamini till the January transfer window opens but the question remains is if Arsene Wenger will be active or not during the winter window.

Arsenal will most definitely sanction the signing of players in January so as to boost the club’s title aspirations with the side currently underperforming due to lack of squad depth and major injury problems.
