Arsenal Board To Offer Wenger New One Year Contract

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger hit fans with some bad news recently when he confirmed that he will not be renewing his contract at the Emirates and will be leaving at the end of his contract in 2017.

But according to reports in the Mirror,  Arsenal are preparing a new contract that will keep manager Arsene Wenger at the North London club until the end of 2018/2019 season.

The Frenchman is the Premier League’s longest-serving manager presently and has brought a level of success and stature to the Emirates Stadium club during his time there, with qualification for the Champions League guaranteed over recent years.

This news will have the fans react with mixed feelings as a section of the Gunners fans are already calling on Wenger to step down in the near future, so there can be room for a new manager who might give the Gunners something new.

The fact that Arsenal have not won the Premier League crown in over ten years has largely contributed to this feeling of wanting someone else who might be hungry enough for the English Premiership title.

It all still lies with Wenger to see if he will renew the contract or not. I personally hope he doesn’t though.  It is really time for someone younger and hungrier.
