The reports are saying that the fee of £25m has been agreed upon and it is just a matter of time before the deal is completed.
However, it is not clear at this point if this us true as the Gunners manager recently stated that he will not be buying a new striker in this transfer window buy will much rather wait until the injured players all get back into the dam and he even quoted Danny Welbeck’s return for two to three weeks.
Yarmolenko has also been linked with Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona so if Arsenal truly want him, they would have to fight it out with these two clubs but it is all still not clear at this point.
Reports are however placing Arsenal in pole position to sign the player as the forward himself prefers to move to the Emirates and this could push the move in Arsenal’s favour.
It remains to be seen then if Wenger will go ahead with this transfer but if he does, it might finally provide the competition in the squad for the striking position and spur the strikers to do better than they have been so far but I personally believe Wenger should not toy with the cadence of the squad at the moment and just leave them to sort it out between themselves in front of goal.
