Arsenal are about losing Aleksandr Kokorin to Zenit St Petersburg. The Russian club are reportedly close to signing the Dinamo Moscow 24-year-old man. The forward’s future has been a subject of discussion due to the fact that his contract with the club is expected to expire at the end of the season.
With the Russian international in good form, Dinamo Moscow are expected to sell the player in the coming transfer window as they wouldn’t want to loose him for free by the end of the season. According to Russian daily, Izevestia, Zenit are close to snatching Kokorin after the club held talks with the players representative over a possible transfer.
Dinamo Moscow are believed to be willing to sell the player for around €6million and Zenit are close to reaching an agreement and may complete the transfer once the January window opens. Kokorin has scored 5 goals in 10 appearances for the club this season and is currently the clubs leading goal scorer.
Kokorin has been linked with a host of clubs, notably Arsenal. The Gunners have been on the trail of the player for some time now and have reportedly made enquiries, and even held talks with his representative. This would come as a bitter news for Wenger and also a big loss if they are eventually upstaged.
