As reports would suggest, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is considering a move for his former Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneidjer, who is rated around €18.5 million by his club Galatasaray. According to various reports in the Italian media, the Dutchman has agreed personal terms with Chelsea and the deal is likely to be made official as early as January 1.
The Blues are currently having a torrid premier league campaign,-one of the worst in their club’s history, but things seem to be looking brighter for Chelsea following a 1-0 win against Norwich City in which Diego Costa scored the lone goal.
Reports claim that Sneidjer has a good relationship with Chelsea manager, and he is also keen on a January move. The Midfield maestro has made 120 appearances for the Oranje national team. He definitely has the experience and ability to help Chelsea out.
Sneijder, who signed a three-year contract extension with Galatasaray last month, underlined his desire to manage Gala after he hangs up his boots.
He said: “If I have a choice I would prefer to become a coach when I retied from football. One day I hope to coach at Galatasaray.”
Should Sneidjer should Chelsea, it will be a massive statement of intent. His signing will be a great morale booster for the squad.
