The gong for the opening of the transfer market will be sounded in less than a fortnight from today and we will definitely be greeted with the intrigues, tussles and surprises that come with the window.
In what has been dubbed a surprise interest, Chelsea are keen on former Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor and they will attempt to complete a deal for him in January, this is according to reports.
Adebayor left Tottenham in the summer by mutual consent after he fell out with members of his immediate family and that greatly impaired his season. He is now on the verge of a Premier league return with Chelsea as his most probable destination after interest from Watford and West Brom.
The 6ft3 attacker still have a valid contract with the Lily Whytes and currently earns £100k-per-week. Goal has now reported that Chelsea have begun negotiation with the former African footballer of the year and they might complete a deal for him in January.
Beginning this season, the strikers of Chelsea have been uncharacteristically poor and the club have been tipped to overhaul their attack with Falcao tipped to be sold.
However, Chelsea have lined-up other options in Alex Texeira, Jonathan Calleri and Gonzalo Higuian but it seems a deal for Adebayor is more probable.
