Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed his delight over his in-formed striker Oliver Giroud who has done greatly in the absence of Alexis Sanchez.
Since his arrival to Arsenal, Giroud has been doing relatively great for the club and his recent form has left winger heaping so much praise him. Giroud has scored nine goals in 16 Premier League appearances and scored five goals in five in the Champions League.
Wenger said of the France born attacker:
‘Olivier has improved technically. His link play is better and when you have the option to go for long balls he is always an interesting option.’ Wenger added. ‘He’s not got electric pace, he is more a player who likes to play with his back to goal. He is not spectacular individually but he is a very efficient player for the team. Mentally he is very strong.’
Sanchez has been nursing a hamstring injury and Arsenal has done so greatly in the absence of the Chilean. Sanchez has scored seven Premier League goals and Joel Campbell has been playing his position.
Sanchez is expected to back before Christmas and on his return, he will take back his attacking position on the midfield of Arsenal.
Arsenal are current second on the League table to Leicester City and they will line up against Manchester City this weekend.
