Alexandre Pato Arrives In London, Set To Sign For Chelsea

Although, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated that he wants to add to his squad this season, he has also recently stated that he is not interested in signing any striker for the Gunners squad this season.

This may have led to Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato signing for Chelsea if the reports are to be believed.

Although, initial reports suggested that Liverpool had almost completed the deal for the Corinthians striker but it looks like Chelsea are in pole position to sign him as the player and agent are currently in London to complete the transfer.

When asked about the transfer rumours, Pato said, “One day I knew I would like to come to England because I think the championship is the number one in the world. It is very competitive.” “I like the emotion in the English league. You look at the TV and you see the stadium and the fans. I remember that when we played Arsenal, they were very strong and very fast. My special thing is my speed. I’m fast. I think that’s good because the football here is very quick.” “I don’t think the physical part of English football would be a problem. When you get the ball, you need to be ready. The defenders here are very tough but I like that.” “I have spoken to Willian, Firmino, Coutinho and David Luiz before. I think Brazilian players can play here. You mix talent and intelligence and Brazilian players can play here.”

Although this comments prompted English clubs to chase the player but it looks like Chelsea have all but completed the deal and will be hoping he can at least be on the bench against Arsenal on Sunday.

According to reports from Footballfancast, Corinthians manager Tite was questioned about the potential transfer and he said, “Maybe in two or three days, you journalists will have an answer about Pato. A response from me won’t be needed.”

It remains to be seen if this deal will not be enough to push Chelsea back to the top four on the English League table and if it will not be enough to guarantee the Blues a win against Arsenal on Sunday.
