Chelsea striker target Alex Texeira has admitted that he will fancy a move to Chelsea in other to boost his chances of playing for the Samba Boys, this follows from the report that Chelsea are interested in the player and are willing to land him.
Texeira has been on the radar of Chelsea from the days of Jose Mourinho at the helms of Chelsea but the sack of the Portuguese tactician put at abeyance a probable transfer of the player. Hiddink has now identified him as a player he can add to Chelsea’s rank.
At the start of the transfer market, the coach of Shahktar Donetsk Mircea Lucescu had given the uncapped Brazilian his blessing to join the Stamford Bridge outfit.
Speaking to O’Globo, Texeira, 26, has now exhumed speculations that he could to moving to Chelsea.
“It’s great to have a club like Chelsea interested in me,” Teixeira said. “I always try to do my job well and play to my best.
He further stated that he has not been handed a call by the national team for the reason of perception – implying, Shakhtar is a smaller club and the prowess and form cannot be justified in that type of club.
“Shakhtar Donetsk are not very big in Brazil, and I think I may need to move on to stand out and earn a place in the squad. That’s my goal for 2016.
Playing behind the striker, Texeira has scored 22 goals in 15 league games and can add steel to the attack of Chelsea.
