With the transfer of Mohamed Elneny very almost done, we are also bound to see movement from the Emirates as the Daily Mail is reporting that Mathieu Debuchy could be on his way for Lyon after Bruno Genesio made enquiries over his availability.
Debuchy, joined Arsenal in the summer of 2014 after the departure of Bacary Sagna to Manchester City. He became an instant favourite in the back position for Arsenal Wenger but picked up a shoulder injury in the game against Stoke City.
In his absence, Hector Bellerin was giving the nod to play in his place but the Spanish youngster usurped Debuchy to the position. Bellerin has more speed and skills and has bedded into the defence and team of Arsenal.
The prospect of playing regularly for Arsenal is no long tenable and Debucy is wary of his chances France team for the Euro 16 Championship. The coach of the Les Blue has told Debuchy that he will not be considered for selection if he doesn’t play regularly and his best bet at first team football is away from the Arsenal.
However, Lyon are not left solely in the chase for the player, it is widely reported that the 30-year-old has agreed personal terms with West Brom and he will put pen to paper for the club before January window closes.
