Chelsea have been told that Shakhtar Donetsk forward, Alex Teixeira, could have his transfer fee increased by £7 million if an agreement is not reached for his proposed move by the end of January transfer window. The 25-year old is currently said to be worth £29 million and it could soar to £36.3 million by next summer.
The Brazilian striker, who has scored 26 goals in 26 appearances for his Ukrainian outfit, has been constantly linked with a move to Italian giant, Juventus and Chelsea; but the forward has indicated that he would prefer a move to London to join the blues. The forward has confirmed that he has held discussion with the English champion over a switch to West London.
While giving his thought on the proposed transfer, Shakhtar Donetsk manager, Mircea Lucescu, expressed that if Chelsea failed to sign Alex Teixeira by the end of next month’s transfer window, the price tag placed on the forward, who has averaged a goal per game in all competition this season, will increase by £7million next summer if he were to continue performing at his best like he is currently doing.
There is no doubt as regards the need of Chelsea for new forwards since they are struggling to score goals; however, with the club being linked to other forwards like Gonzalo Higuain, Emmanuel Adebayor and Alexander Pato, a deal may not be reached with this quick and skilful Brazilian this January.
