It is speculated that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is reluctant to offer defensive midfielder Mathieu flamini a contract extension at the club.
Hitcsport, reports that the 31 year old midfielder could leave Arsenal since there are no indications from the club that a new contract is on the cards and as his contract expires in the summer of 2016 it implies the French international could leave the club on a Bosman.
According to the mirror, Arsene Wenger considers recruiting a younger defensive midfielder, who will not demand the same hefty wage package that Mathieu Flamini commands at the moments. Flamini earns £80,000 pounds a week.
One of the players who have been reported to be a likely Arsenal buy this winter is FC Basel’s Mohamed Elneny. According to Mirror, Arsenal have agreed a fee with the player’s club and personal terms have long been agreed with the player and his representatives and all thats left is for the player to undergo a medical.
This is coming few days after news broke that Arsenal have agreed fee and personal terms for the signing of Kokorin from the Russian league.
What this means is that two medicals may be conducted at Arsenal on Monday.
