Since he was appointed as the manager if Manchester United in the summer of 2014, Louis Van Gaal has being the biggest spender in the Premier league. The Dutch tactician was yet unrelenting last summer in his spending spree when he spent over £100 in the acquiring players.
With the squad of United lacking in depth in some aspects of their game, United were bound to still be rooting for players in this market. However, according to latest report, United have agreed a deal for Portugal international and Benfica star midfielder Renato Sanches.
Although, nothing has been confirmed on the official website of United as to the deal, it is widely reported in the Portuguese media wave that the player will join United. The 18-year-old has been on the radar of united before the opening of the January transfer window.
Despite being very young, Renato Sanches has been featuring for the Benfica in the Liga Sagres. He has featured 11 times this season, starting in nine matches. Although, he would be unable to play in the first team of United but it is a bargain that will be worth it given the prospect he has shown.
It is understood that the player signed an extension with Benfica last summer which included about £62 million release clause in his contract. It will be sheer madness for United to pay such sum for a teenager.
United have lacked a bit of creativity in the middle of the pack but Renato Sanches cannot guarantee being the missing piece on the puzzle for United
