Manchester United head South to take on Watford in this weekend’s premier league encounter, after a two-week hiatus due to international football which saw the likes of Juan Mata and Anthony Martial feature for their respective National teams.
The trip to Watford certainly won’t be easy an easy one, with the newly-promoted side looking a tough outfit to take all three points against following their exploits against top sides in the league.
United will have to be solid in defence to keep the likes of Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo at bay, with the attacking duo’s goals firing Watford to an impressive 11th place on the premier league table.
Team selection is huge, and after the international break Louis van Gaal will know who is available to play in this one.
Ander Herrera is expected to get the nod in the middle after being rested for two weeks, with the speed of Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard either side of him. Wayne Rooney will start up front following encouraging performances against Spain and France.
The holding midfielder spots will be taken by Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin, with an extremely solid back four of Chris Smalling, Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo. David de Gea will obviously continue in goal as he is United’s first choice keeper at the moment.
United will have to be focused all through the game against Watford as the newly promoted side will be keen on capitalizing on any lapse of concentration from Manchester United.
