The attack remains top priority for the new Liverpool coach, and he continues to look at options for the front roles in order to bolster his options of finishing in top 4 at the end of the season. The German tactician has identified PSG’s winger, Ezequiel Lavezzi as a target for the January window transfer. The 30 year-old Argentina international has fallen down the pecking orders, and is willing to leave the Ligue 1 champions for a side that guarantees regular playing time.
Liverpool are not the only ones interested in the services of the Argentine winger, as they also face stiff competitions from the likes of Arsenal and Inter Milan for his signature. Lavezzi is behind fellow countryman, Angel DiMaria in the starting lineup, and has made most of his appearances this season off the bench.
The speedy wideman was a fans’ favorite in the club’s capital upon his arrival seasons ago, and has already amassed 22 goals in 103 league appearances thus far. He is also been linked with a move to Barcelona, as he is said to be keen to join compatriots, Messi and Javier at the Spanish side.
Liverpool have been without a quality winger since Raheem Sterling departed during the Summer, and will do with the services of Lavezzi if they can successfully secure his services. Jordan Ibe has not been able to fill the shoes of the England international winger, and the experiences of the 30 year-old will come handy. He already has a League goal in 13 appearances this season, and will most likely be available for sales by PSG as he is already considered surplus to requirements at the Parc de Princes.
