There have been lots of speculations surrounding Jose Mourinho’s future since his recent sack at Chelsea. Manchester United have been heavily linked to Mourinho, coupled with the rumors of Louis Van Gaal’s intended sack, owing to his unacceptable performances. Real Madrid have also been linked with the 52-year old Portuguese who hasn’t made any official confirmation of his next destination.
Former Real Madrid attacking midfielder, Esteban Granero, recently spoke about Mourinho’s future, Granero who played under Mourinho at Madrid said in an interview with Spanish media outfit, Marca. ” Mourinho and Madrid have already been united once and am convinced they will be together again and that will be good for everyone.”
Jorge Mendes, Mourinho’s agent, also had this to say. “Mourinho is now in Brazil, lets see what will happen when he returns. Jose has to feel comfortable because he is number one in the world.”
“Will we see him back in Italy? For now, I am not going to speak about Spain nor England nor Italy. I repeat, he is number one and he is on holiday.”
Mourinho was recently sacked from Chelsea after uncharacteristically guiding Chelsea to just one point above the relegation zone. After the loss to Westham, Mourinho went on to lose 5 five more games which dragged defending champions, Chelsea to 16th position with just a point above relegation. The controversial Portuguese was eventually sacked after the board met to discuss his future.
The last sack, represents his 3rd career sack. Mourinho has previously been sacked at Madrid in 2003 after ending the season without a trophy and was also sacked at Chelsea in 2007 after a series of bad showing, but has never been as worse as this. His sack was confirmed in a statement published by Chelsea.
