It was reported about a week ago that Manchester United has joined the queue of premier league clubs willing to make Pep Guardiola their new boss. Local rivals, Manchester City are most bookies favourite to land the catalan coach, Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich is also known to be a huge admirer and with Man United’s current manager, Louis Van Gaal’s struggles, United are expected to make a play for the current Bayern Munich coach.
An unnamed source close to Pep Guardiola, has now told the Daily Star that the former Barcelona player prefers to go to Manchester United and sees them as the best option amongst his suitors. The unnamed source, speaking to Daily Star said,”Pep always found the club fascinating. He likes clubs with huge tradition and United certainly have this. He won’t be short of options when it comes to deciding his next move and Manchester City are an ambitious club, but United could still prove to be the more attractive proposition.”
If this move materializes, it will come as a shock to local rivals, Manchester City, who have long been installed as favourites to land the coach’s signature, due to the presence of his friends, Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain, with whom he enjoyed tremendous success while at Barcelona.
