According to Mario Balotelli’s agent, the striker could be back at Liverpool next season. Mino Raiola, who is Balotelli’s agent is reportedly planning to hold talks with new Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp. Raiola will be hoping to convince Klopp to letting the Italy international revive his career at Liverpool. Balotelli while at England, played for Manchester City and Liverpool.
The striker who is currently on loan at AC Milan has endured a season full of injuries. His recurrent groin problem has left him with just four appearances all season, with the Ghana born Italian scoring just once. The 25-year old has been sidelined with the groin injury since September. The controversial striker was highly criticised while at Liverpool and subsequently fell out of favor with Liverpool’s former manager, Brendan Rogers.
Raiola admits that the former Inter Milan striker didn’t leave up to expectation in 2015, but didn’t rule out a second Liverpool spell for the player. The agent, while speaking to Sky Italia confirmed, he will hold talks with Klopp over Balotelli. Raiola said, ” For sure, That is part of my job, to speak to all managers.
“I know Klopp from Mkhitaryan at Dortmund. If we talk about the quality and talent Mario has, that is without question. Then you also need a manager that believes in you and gives you the chance to prove yourself. We will talk to him when it is time to talk to him.” Balotelli joined Liverpool from AC Milan in the summer of 2014 for £16million, but the striker has failed to leave up to his reputation.
Balotelli had a purely disastrous time with the Reds. The player’s agent was also asked if Klopp has a plan for Balotelli. ” Whether Klopp has a plan for him or not, I don’t know. I haven’t spoken about this to him or Liverpool. I think it is too soon. Obviously if Mario does what he has to do, there is maybe another view on him also.
“He had to go away because under Brendan, there was no possibility to develop anymore. There was a preconception towards Mario, and I think from his private part of life, he has proven them wrong. But we have to be realistic, he didn’t perform well in 2015 and 2016 has to be his year. That is his challenge.”
The 25-year old obviously had a bad 2015, where he made only 4 appearance, coming off the substitutes bench in 2 of those. Balotelli has only scored 3 league goals since the summer of 2014.
