The goalkeeper of Spain and Manchester United David De Gea’s dream of becoming a Galacticos was reportedly shattered during the summer due to incomplete paper works as the amiable shot-stopper had no choice than to continue putting on the Gloves of United.
De Gea was a subject of transfer interest from Real Madrid but when the deal failed, the Spaniard extended his stay with United and has since settled as the first choice goalie of the Red Devils.
The best goalkeeper in the League last season, De Gea is still one of the best in the Premier League. But, he may have dashed Real Madrid’s hopes of landing him after he endorsed a tweet about Luis Saurez’ goal when they thumped Real Madrid at the Santiago and a lot has been postulated as the said social media activity.
The Spaniard shot stopper liked a tweet about Saurez and it has been inferred as a taunt for Madrid.
“De Gea favorited an Adidas tweet about Suárez after he scored: https://twitter.com/D_DeGea/favorites …”
However, it is believed that Madrid’s failure to sign the player does not translate into them giving up on the player. Despite De Gea extending his contract by four years, Los Blancos as believed would still make a move for the goalkeeper tipped to be in the shoes of Casillas for long term.
Meanwhile, in his typical fashion, De Gea won the man of the match award last weekend when United played Watford. Still a good chap.
