DOUBLE Swoop – Manchester United Plan £55m January Raid On Bundesliga Side

According to the popular German newspaper Bild, Manchester United are set to table a double bid for Bundesliga duo Ricardo Rodriguez and Hakan Calhanoglu.

Van Gaal has stressed on many occasions this season that he’s looking to add depth to the squad as he has had to look into the youth system a number of times this term to replace underperforming players as seen with Jesse Lingard coming in to replace Memphis Depay on the flanks.

Wolfsburg’s Rodriguez would be a great replacement for long-term injury absentee Luke Shaw who is expected to be out on the sidelines for another couple of months, while Bayer Leverkusen’s Calhanoglu is widely tipped as one of the best Young players in Europe right now following his impressive performances in the Bundesliga this season.

Alongside Rodriguez and Calhanoglu Louis Van Gaal is also keen on signing Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller.

The Red Devils are also looking into the Possibility of a move for Thomas Muller as the German striker refused to rule out a move out of the Allianz Arena earlier this season stating on a number of occasions ‘it’s all about the wages “

Although the transfer isn’t dubbed impossible, it would be quite difficult considering the large asking price Bayern has tagged on Muller but then again Manchester United are known for the massive funds they’ve invested upon LVG’s arrival.

Bayern Munich are currently on top of the Bundesliga table having dropped their only points of the season in a draw against Frankfurt.
