Deal Done, Medicals & Paper Works Sorted! Club Set To Announce 1ST January Signing In 72 Hours

At the end of last season, the supposed bane to the success of Arsenal in the Premier League was the poor conversion rate of their striker and lack of strength in depth in the midfield.

With the summer transfer market of last season, pundit, enthusiast and fans of Arsenal thought Wenger will correct the apparent weakness in his otherwise strong squad. alas, Wenger saddened the minds of his supporters and failed to sign an outfield player.

However, latest report have stated that Arsenal have completed a deal for Mohamed Elneny after the player passed medicals and the announcement of the deal will be made before the Gunners FA Cup game against Sunderland.

Mohamed Elneny, completed a £7 million deal on a four-and-a-half year contract but the announcement was initially stalled by work permit issues. Recent reports have now showed that Arsenal are through all that already and are confident of announcing the deal before the weekend, per the Metro.

Arsenal have been left thin in the middle of the Park and the need for a midfielder cannot be overly emphasised. Elneny can play as defensive midfielder and central midfielder and will provide options to Flamini and Ramsey in the midfield.

Elneny has been a mainstay in the team of Swiss side FC Basel and has been tipped to succeed in the club. He’s made five appearances for the club  in the Europa League this term, scoring two goals.
