Manchester United have had a good enough season so far under new manager Louis Van Gaal and have had more confidence in their back four this season, even with Van Gaal’s rotations. The back four too have had the confidence to rely on United’s number one goalkeeper, David de Gea as he has been faultless this season.
However, this confidence in their number one goalkeeper has not been beneficial to one person in the Red Devils’ squad and that is former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes who was signed to be a competition for David de Gea in United or even replace De Gea if he had left for Real Madrid.
But since the beginning of this season which did not see De Gea moving clubs, David De Gea has remained United’s number one Goalkeeper and has relegated Valdes to the reserves. This has not gone well with Valdes who chose not to listen to manager Louis Van Gaal after he was told to keep goals for the reserve squad and this has led to numerous problems for him at Old Trafford.
According to the latest reports however, the goalkeeper and Manchester United have found a solution as they are said to be ready to agree Newcastle United’s offer for the flop goalie Victor Valdes.
The Magpies #1 stopper Tim Krul has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering an injury on international duty with the Netherlands, whilst reserve goalies, Rob Elloit and Karl Darlow have now joined him on the sidelines with injuries too.
Earlier this month, Valdes agent Gines Carvajal also confirmed that the veteran keeper wants to leave Old Trafford as he siad, “We are relying on Manchester United letting Victor go.
“The Premier League is very attractive and Valdes want to stay because he has adapted perfectly to England, but we are not closing the door to any options.
“There are still two months until the transfer window opens and there is nothing concrete, but the intention is to leave Manchester United.”
