Keane was on a season-long loan at Championship side Preston, but now fresh reports suggests he is on his way back to Old Trafford. Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial are the only senior strikers at United at the moment, and United’s struggles in front of goal this season, has made them short of options upfront no wonder Louis Van Gaal decided to recall the 22 year old on loan striker.
Grayson told Sky Sports; “it happened in the last hours or so. United felt they need an extra body around them, obviously it’s disappointing to lose Will. In a few weeks he’s been finding his feet with us. But that is what happens when you get loan players. We accept it, we will probably go into the market over the next few days and weeks to being in reinforcements. Hopefully he will do well for Manchester United.”
Will Keane has made just one appearance for Manchester United’s first team which was in 2011, before loan spells at Wigan, Qpr, Sheffield Wednesday and Preston.
Grayson insists it will be interesting to see if Keane can fix United’s striking problems.
“It’s a big step up. But he’s played regularly for us, he’s fit, so time will tell.” Grayson added during his interview with Sky Sports.
I wonder in what ways 22 year old Will Keane can solve United’s striking problems, only time will tell.
