Known for his trade mark free-kicks, the Turkish ace midfielder admitted that it would be difficult turn down any offer from Manchester united. It is understood that he is also being coveted by Barcelona but he will favour a move to the Premier League.
Calhanoglu spoke to Lig TV after Roma thumped them in the Champions League. He said:
“Barcelona and Manchester United are huge clubs it would be different to turn them down but I have not said anything about any transfers or anything of the sort.”
Although he signed a contract extension to keep him at the BayArena until 2019, Manchester United are readying £28.9 million for the midfielder and it is believed that Leverkusen will accept offer in that region.
During the summer, Manchester United bought some midfielders but they are yet playing Wayne Rooney from midfield. It is understood that Calhanoglu will fit into the creative midfield position of the Red Devils.
Meanwhile, the 21-year-old has starred for Leverkusen 19 times this season, scoring five goals and providing four assist.
