Victor Valdes agent, Gines Carvajal has tipped the former Barcelona goalie for a move to another EPL side despite United’s threats not to release him by January if he opts for a Premier League team. Gines claimed contrary to opinion, a return to the La Liga isn’t in the books as the keeper has had to turn down offers from Valencia after having spent more than a decade with Barcelona before departing in 2014. His agent is however sure of a move away from the Old Trafford come Winter, and he says,
“I’m sure he will leave the club in January, I’m ready for it. It’s clear he has to leave and we’ll try to make sure he’s happy and feels comfortable”
Newcastle seems to be the most likely of next destination for the 33 year-old as the club’s first choice, Tim Krul suffered a damage to his anterior cruciate ligament during the international break, and has since been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
The relegation-threatened club will hope to get Valdes by January for a deal till the end of the season as they think he is one of the few options that has the quality and experience to man the sticks in the absence of the Netherlands international.
Valdes has been an outcast at United since the beginning of the season following claims that he refused to appear for the youth side last season. He has fallen out with Louis Van Gaal who revealed the ex-Spain international refused to adapt to his philosophy. Due to that, Valdes wasn’t included in the club’s pre-season tour squad and also the EPL and Champions League squad for the new season. He also isn’t allowed to train with the squad and he trains away from the rest. He no longer has a personal locker in the locker room, with the ostracism pointing to a way out once of the Theater of dreams once January arrives.
