Though reports that came out earlier this week suggested that Southampton are not ready to let go of Sadio Mane, Manchester United have not relented in their efforts to buy the Senegalese winger as they want to beef up their attacking options which have been their major problem this season.
Sadio Mane is currently in bad terms with the officials at Southampton after he reportedly came late for training and Southampton boss, Ronald Koeman, who dropped him for their last match against Norwich, expressed his displeasure at the act of the player. He said that such indiscipline will never be condoned at the club.
The former Metz winger was heavily linked to Manchester United all through last summer, but the saints resisted the temptation to sell him as they do not want to lose more players. The Saints lost Morgan Schneiderlin and Nathaniel Clyne to Manchester United and Liverpool respectively last summer. Other players that have left Southampton for other clubs in the last two summer transfer windows are Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana, Calum Chambers, Dejan Lovren, Rickie Lambert and so on.
Sport News outlet Gazetta World indicated that Louis Van Gaal wants the 23-year old Senegal international and the Red Devils will launch a massive bid worth £29.4 for the winger this January in an attempt to bring him to the Old Trafford. If this deal should go through, Manchester United will further challenge for the EPL title as the season progresses.
