“Yes, I Have Signed” Marko Grujic Confirms Liverpool Move

 According to Sky Sports, Red Star Belgrade midfielder Marko Grujic confirmed he will be a Liverpool player on Monday.

The Serbian international was reportedly a Liverpool target for a number of weeks now and now he took to his official Facebook page to tell fans that the deal will be official on Monday.

“On January 4th I will become a Liverpool player,” he said via his Facebook page.

It is believed that any deal for the 19 year old Red Star Belgrade midfielder will cost 5.1 million pounds. And should the deal be concluded he will be the first of many for Jurgen Klopp.

After making the statement that he will be joining Liverpool on Monday, the 19 year old’s club have confirmed that he (Grujic) will immediately be loaned back to the club (Red Star Belgrade) for the remainder of the season.

A statement from the club reads;

“In the last 10 days we have received three formal offers for the transfer of our player Marko Grujic. From Anderlecht 2 million euro’s, Stuttgart 5 million euro’s, and from Liverpool we received an offer worth 7 million euro’s and 10 percent of the next transfer, all Red Star sincerely want Marko Grujic to stay for the next 10 years, but the financial situation of our club dictates the adoption of a different decision. The board considered the offer of the English giants. Liverpool will pay the money immediately and the player will stay in Red Star until 01/07/2016. We wanted to respect the desire of the player’s father, Marko Grujic will remain until next summer at our club and we agreed to pay Liverpool 1 million euro’s for the loan of six months.”

This means Grujic will be in contention for his first Liverpool start next season.
